"In order to see birds it is necessary to become part of the silence" Robert Lynd (1879-1949), Irish journalist
My name is Corine Bliek, I am a bird photographer living in the Netherlands. Bird watching has been my hobby for a long time. Although there were periods in which it was on hold, due to study, children, work, I always got back into it. Three years ago, in 2017, I bought my first camera to combine my love for birds with photography. Within a few weeks I was completely addicted to it. Although I have a fulltime job working as a curator in a museum I try to find as much time as possible to go out into nature.  I can spend hours walking and looking for birds, sometimes without any luck or photos, but I always go home with more energy and a clear mind. Observing birds and waiting for the right moment to capture the image has become a way of mindfulness for me.
The pictures in this portfolio are all made with a Nikon D7500 or D500 and a Nikkor 200-500mm lens.
